The house is situated on a private 5-hectare property. You are more than welcome to explore the surroundings, but please exercise extreme caution and do so at your own risk, as wildlife is present in the immediate vicinity of the house.

Our valued staff are at your service throughout your stay and include:

  • Our watchman Evans, who keeps a constant eye on the property and, if desired, will prepare a campfire or light the barbecue for you
  • Our dedicated caretaker William, who ensures that the exterior of The Bush Box, the garden, and especially the swimming pool remain in excellent condition every day

How do I get to Mfuwe?

You can reach Mfuwe by air or by road. By air, daily flights connect Mfuwe International Airport (MFU) with Lusaka (around 1.5 hours) via Proflight Zambia, with onward connections from Johannesburg, Nairobi, and other regional hubs. By road, Mfuwe is roughly a 9–10 hour drive from Lusaka via the Great East Road and Chipata; a 4x4 is recommended, especially in the emerald season (December–April).

Is The Bush Box self-catering or are meals included?

The Bush Box is a fully self-catering lodge with a complete kitchen. There are several restaurants and a supermarket in nearby Mfuwe town, and our staff can help with grocery runs or recommend local chefs.
